Washington volleyball plays at Anamosa tourney

ANAMOSA — Washington took its volleyball team to a tournament in Anamosa Saturday and faced some tough competition, going 0-3 against Cedar Rapids Jefferson, Anamosa and Northeast.
Against Jefferson, the Demons started strong but lost 21-15, 21-8. Jefferson, connected on 14 kills, dug four balls and landed 13 aces in the match.
The Northeast match went the opposite way for the Demons, playing closer in the second set, 21-13, 21-19. The Rebels had 11 kills, 14 digs and aced eight serves in the match.
The hosts Blue Raiders disposed of Washington 21-12, 21-6 with 17 kills, eight digs and seven aces.
The Demons are 0-9 and play at Keokuk Tuesday.
