WASHINGTON — The Washington girls soccer team played its second game of the year, and for the second time, the Demons walked off the field with a shut out victory.
Two days after beating Columbus, 2-0, in the season opener, the Demons dumped Williamsburg 3-0 to continue a perfect start to the 2025 season.
Washington started out quick, getting some pressure on the Raider defense before Jocci Carter sent a shot into the net, beating the Williamsburg keeper to the left side with 35:23 left in the first half.
The Demons scored their second goal of the game with 6:47 remaining in the first half, capitalizing on a Luna Cuevas cross, which was sent in on a sliding right foot by Maya Murphy. That made it 2-0 before the halftime break.
Ashley Ramirez had the only goal of the second half. She settled a ball and fired it in with her left foot with 21:46 remaining on the clock to bring the score to 3-0.
Aleigha Medley spent all game in net, saving four shots to earn her second-straight shutout victory.
The Demons moved to 2-0 overall with the win.
