Washington wrestling topped by Burlington in conference dual
Demon boys win five matches, girls two against Grayhounds

Washington’s Thursday night Southeast Conference wrestling head-to-head with Burlington didn’t quite play out how the Demons would have liked.
It ended up being a tough night for Washington as Burlington ended up taking the SEC bout 47-30. The Demons picked up just five wins on the night.
The Washington girls were also in action, falling to Burlington 66-7.
Winners for the Demons include Aaron Boone at 132, Jude Carter at 144, Jonathan Macias at 150, Blaine Rees at 165 and Greyson Hartman at 215.
Boone was the only Demon to win by fall, pinning the Grayhounds’ Jax Rohrer in 1:18. The other four Washington winners were all by forfeit.
Meanwhile, on the girls’ side of things, Ryha Wellington and Peggy Miller both secured victories at 140 and 145 respectively.
Wellington won by a narrow decision over Burlington’s Mia Oddo 7-5. Miller won her match by major decision, downing Ednine Jovanielsey Benedicte Saint-Aime 8-0.
Nora Stoutner was the only other Washington wrestler. Stoutner nearly went the distance before being pinned at 125.
