Washington youth soccer team wins silver
The Washington Area Soccer Program (WASP) competed in the end of season 641 League tournament in Centerville June 3 and 4, with one team bringing home a trophy. The U12 team won silver medals in the tournament.

The Washington Area Soccer Program (WASP) competed in the end of season 641 League tournament in Centerville June 3 and 4, with one team bringing home a trophy. The U12 team won silver medals in the tournament.
In pool play Saturday, June 3,the team went 2-1, advancing to the bracket Sunday, June 4. In the bracket the team beat Albia 2-0, advancing to the semi-finals against Mt. Pleasant where it was tied at the end of regulation. WASP won the match in extra penalty kicks to advance to the finals. In their third game of the day, WASP fell to Ottumwa.
The U15 team finished 1-2 at the tournament. The U10 teams finished: Swarm 3-0, Sting 2-1, Venom 1-2.
The U8 teams finished: Swarm 2-1, Venom 2-1, Sting 2-1.
Coaches included Pro Marcelino, Heather Perez Gibbs, Temo Arreola, Brady Muff, Oscar Hernandez, Joe Smith, Gabi Marcelino, Anthony Torres, and Thomas Zimmer.
