WASHINGTON — Washington’s Nate Edmonds made his college decision on Friday when he signed his letter of intent to play baseball for Loras College.
The Demon senior was joined by family and coaches as he signed his name to the Duhawks.
“It’s very surreal,” Edmonds said. “I’ve always wanted to do this since I was a kid, so it feels great to accomplish this.”
Edmonds was a pitcher and played utility for the Demons last season.
On the mound is where he shined most. Edmonds held an earned runs average of 3.65. He ended with an record of 2-0. Opponents batted just .158 against him.
Edmonds says a great visit is what propelled him to sign.
“I took a visit and talked to coach,” Edmonds said. “He was a really good guy and we have a good connection. It’s a beautiful campus as well.”
Edmonds will be joining a Loras team that finished the 2024 season with a record of 25-18.
The Duhawks fell short of a third consecutive tournament championship last season, falling in the American Rivers Conference AQ Tournament semifinals.
This season Edmonds is looking forward to getting back after it with his teammates one more time.
“I’m looking forward to playing with my guys one last time,” Edmonds said. “I’ve been playing with them my whole life. It’s going to be good to get one more season with them.”
Edmonds will be looking to major in engineering and minor in business.
