Water Sharks collect six top-10 finishes at state swim meet
The Washington Community Y Water Sharks swim team competed at the state meet at the Marshalltown Community Y this past weekend, finishing in the top 10 in six events.

The Washington Community Y Water Sharks swim team competed at the state meet at the Marshalltown Community Y this past weekend, finishing in the top 10 in six events.
Megan Buitendorp finished in the top 10 in a pair of events. She took third place in the 200 back in the girls? 12-21 division in 2:24.15, and she also came in fifth in the 100 back in the 15-21 age group in 1:06.06. Buitendorp also finished 13

in the 15-21 200 free in 2:18.21. The 200 medley relay team of Buitendorp, Emily Adam, Lyndsay Adrian and Meredith Lumberg finished 11

in 2:16.26, and the same quartet came in 12

in the 200 free relay in 1:58.33.
Adam also finished in the top 10 in a pair of individual races. She took eighth place in the 200 breaststroke in the girls? 12-21 division in 2:50.68, and she also finished 10

in the 100 breaststroke in the 15-21 age group in 1:20.32.
The boys? 15-21 200 medley relay team of Jacob Miles, Nicholas Todd, Ben Berhow and Victor Miller took eighth place in 2:18.23. The quartet of Miller, Miles, Todd and Noah Bruns took 12
th
place in the 200 free relay in 1:56.57.
Todd finished 11
th
in the 100 breaststroke in 1:22.62, and Miles was right behind him in 14

place in 1:32.30. Miles also came in 13

Bruns took ninth place in the 100 breaststroke in the boys? 13-14 division in 1:14.66. He also finished 13

in the 200 individual medley in the 12-21 age group in 2:29.02, and he was 13

in the 100 free in the 13-14 division in 58.60 seconds.
Kayla Andrew came in 11

in the 50 butterfly in the girls? 11-12 division, and she was also 11

in the 100 breaststroke in 1:23.97. Teammate Haylee Wilson finished 14
