Water Sharks swim at state
The Washington Water Sharks went to state a week ago, and came away with some top results in the process.

The Washington Water Sharks went to state a week ago, and came away with some top results in the process.
According to Washington Y Aquatic Director Brittanie Adrian, 15 of the Water Shark swimmers qualified for regionals with their times at the state meet.
On the girls? side of the state meet in Marshalltown, there were five top-10 finishes, highlighted by the sixth-place finish of the women?s 200-meter freestyle relay.
Alijah Beatty, Audrey Wubbena, Allison Vogel and Megan Adam combined to finish in sixth in the event with a time of 1:50.11.
Another high-flying relay came in the 200-meter medley relay, when Vogel, Beatty, Adam and Kayla Andrew combined for a time of 2:06.06. to take seventh place.
In the individual finishes, Megan Adam picked up a pair of top-10 placements.
In the 200-meter freestyle, Adam earned a seventh-place finish with a 2:11.23, while claiming a ninth-place slot in the 100-freestyle with a 59.02.
Beatty also claimed a top-10 individual finish, claiming 10th place in the 500-meter freestyle with a 6:15.93.
On the boys? side of the meet, the Water Sharks claimed 11 top-10 finishes on the day.
In the relays, the Water Shark boys earned a second-place finish in the 200-meter freestyle, with Ben Berhow, TJ Durst, Nic Rath and Noah Bruns combining for a time of 1:37.20.
Bruns, Berhow, Durst and Victor Miller combined in the 200-meter medley relay to finish in fourth place with a time of 1:51.38.
In the individual events, Bruns and Berhow earned fifth- and sixth-place finishes, respectively, in the 50-meter freestyle, both clocking in under 24 seconds.
Bruns and Berhow finished back-to-back in the 100-meter freestyle as well, with Bruns finishing in fourth and Berhow taking fifth.
Bruns added a second-place finish in the 100-meter backstroke, while Rath had a 10th place finish in the event.
Berhow finished in second place in the 100-meter breaststroke.
Brennen Westphal earned a pair of fifth-place finishes in the 50-meter breaststroke and in the 100-meter breaststroke in the 9-10-year-old age group.
Jacob Miller finished in ninth place in the 50-meter freestyle among 11-12-year-olds.
