The Highland football team looked to rebound on Friday night and avoid going 0-2 in district.
The Wilton Beavers had other plans, as they took a 25-18 victory over the Huskies, despite more than 230 yards of offense through the air for Highland.

Wilton 35 ? Highland 18
The Highland football team looked to rebound on Friday night and avoid going 0-2 in district.
The Wilton Beavers had other plans, as they took a 25-18 victory over the Huskies, despite more than 230 yards of offense through the air for Highland.
Wilton opened the game with a 14-0 lead, before Billy Burton returned a second-quarter kickoff 73 yards for a score.
Wilton got in the end zone once more in the first half to make it 21-6 at halftime, before a pair of Highland scores brought them within three points.
The Huskies scored on a 2-yard Jake Wood run to open the fourth quarter, and followed that up with a 42-yard pass from Wood to Trent Lasek to make it 21-18.
The Beavers had a pair of touchdown passes to answer and put the game away, earning the 17-point victory.
The Huskies will look to get back on track with another tough test as they take on Regina at home on Friday night.
Mount Vernon 49 ? Mid-Prairie 31
The Mid-Prairie football team went to face off against one of the early favorites in Class 2A on Friday night, and despite hanging tough with the Mustangs, fell to Mount Vernon 49-31.
The Golden Hawks had a big night through the air, as Karson Gingerich threw for 164 yards and three scores on the night.
Sophomore Justin Schwartz caught two of the three touchdowns, while Gingerich found senior Carter Reiner for a 65-yard strike.
Senior Ricky Vargas notched 185 yards on the ground, averaging 8 yards per carry.
Defensively, Duncan McCain had a team-best eight tackles, while Levi Duwa had six tackles, with two going for a loss. Duwa also added a 3-yard rushing score.
Mid-Prairie will return home and look to end their three-game losing streak when they take on Camanche on Friday.
Louisa-Muscatine 19 ? Columbus 14
The Columbus football team led late in the game, but a late rally by Louisa-Muscatine gave the Falcons the victory on Friday night, 19-14, over the Wildcats.
After playing to a 7-all score after the first quarter, Columbus had a 66-yard touchdown run that put them up 14-7.
Early in the third quarter, Louisa-Muscatine had a touchdown run, but missed the extra point to make it 14-13 in favor of Columbus.
L-M put together a touchdown drive late in the quarter to take the lead for good and they held onto the lead to claim the victory over Columbus.
The Wildcats will take on Wapello on the road Friday night.
