Week three Softball Rankings

Another week of softball down and another week of rankings released by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.

While no Union area school grace this weeks list, there have been some interesting leaps around the rankings.

In Class 1A, North Linn made the jump to the No. 1 spot. The Lynx were previously slotted in the No. 4 spot.

Also, Martensdale-St. Marys went from No. 8 all the way to No. 2.

Previous No. 1 and No. 2 Southeast Warren and Newell-Fonda are now three and four.

Woodbine has dropped out of the rankings.

In Class 2A, one, two and three are all the same.

Iowa City Regina continues to hold the No. 1 spot, followed by Central Springs and Lisbon.

No. 4 Van Meter and No. 5 Wilton flipped spots. West Monona went from No. 10 to No. 6.

Louisa-Muscatine and Ridge View both dropped out of the top 15.

Williamsburg still hold the top rank in Class 3A at 13-0.

Davenport Assumption hasn’t moved out of the No. 2 position and previous No. 5 Davis County is now No. 3, bumping Saydel down to No. 7.

Benton drops out of the rankings this week.

In 4A, Indianola, who was No. 5 last week is now the new No. 1.

Norwalk improves one spot to No. 2 and former No. 1 Dallas Center-Grimes is No. 3.

Fort Dodge is at four after moving down two spots.

Creston and ADM are both out of the rankings.

Class 5A has a new No. 1 in Ankeny Centennial. They were formerly No. 7.

Previous No. 1 West Des Moines Valley is now No. 2. Waukee Northwest sits at No. 3.

Urbandale, Ames and Sioux City East all move out of the rankings.
