IMS edges Mediapolis
The Iowa Mennonite School boys? basketball team picked up a much-needed win against Mediapolis on Friday night, picking up a hard-fought 46-42 victory behind Eli Gingerich?s 22 points.

IMS edges Mediapolis
The Iowa Mennonite School boys? basketball team picked up a much-needed win against Mediapolis on Friday night, picking up a hard-fought 46-42 victory behind Eli Gingerich?s 22 points.

The win marks the second in five games for IMS, as they improved to 7-3 (5-2 in conference action) on the season.
Iowa Mennonite trailed 32-28 to the Bulldogs heading into the fourth quarter, but piled on 18 points in the final period for the conference victory.
Senior Jacob Schmieder picked up seven points and a team-high six rebounds for IMS, while junior Nick Yutzy had seven points and three assists.
IMS will travel to Wapello on Tuesday night, as it looks to build on its positive momentum.
Keota splits pair of games
On Friday night, the Keota boys? basketball team picked up another conference victory in a rout of HLV, 87-45, but was handed a non-conference loss to Pekin on Saturday, falling 65-45.
In the victory over HLV, six different Eagles dished out at least two assists, with junior Jacob Wickenkamp and senior Zach Mousel leading the way with five each.
Isaiah Hahn notched 18 points in the game, while Mousel scored 14, Hunter Wilson scored 12 and Tyler Verstraete picked up 10.
Junior Avery Conrad had nine rebounds and five points to help lead the Eagles in the victory.
In the loss to Pekin, Conrad and Hahn each had 11 points for the Eagles to lead the team, while Conrad grabbed a team-high six rebounds.
Mousel scored seven points and dished out six assists, picking up three steals to lead the team.
The split puts Keota at 9-3 on the season, and 8-1 in the South Iowa Cedar League.
Keota will take on Montezuma on the road, Tuesday, before returning home to take on Colfax-Mingo on Friday night.
Mid-Prairie drops pair of close contests
The Mid-Prairie boys? basketball team was fighting hard for its first win of the season over the weekend, but fell short, dropping a pair of close contest to North Cedar and Fairfield.
Against North Cedar, a tough first quarter which saw the Knights take a 16-6 lead, led to the Hawks being unable to recover, falling 45-33.
Seniors Ryan Cortum and Noah Altenhofen each scored eight points in the contest, as juniors Caleb Statler and Derek Rich each grabbed a team-high six rebounds.
Against Fairfield, a strong second quarter saw the Golden Hawks take a big 26-16 lead at halftime, but a strong second-half surge from the Trojans gave them a 52-44 victory.
Statler had 13 points and eight rebounds in the contest.
The Hawks will take on Tipton on the road on Tuesday, before returning home to take on West Branch on Friday.
