This week marks the final regular-season matches for many area volleyball teams, as they prepare for next week?s postseason openers.

With the regional tournaments opening for Class 1A and 2A on Oct. 18, and the Class 3A and 4A tournaments opening on Oct. 19, area squads are looking to build positive momentum in the tail end of the season.
Washington
The Demons hosted their own tournament on Saturday and came away with their third win of the season.
Playing four matches on the day, Washington found a victory over Tri-County, with a 21-14, 21-19 match victory.
The Demons also took on Regina, falling 21-16, 21-11, while falling to Wapello in straight sets (25-11, 25-13) and Iowa Mennonite in three sets (7-21, 21-18, 8-15).
The tournament pushes Washington?s season record to 3-21 overall as they look to take on Fort Madison on Tuesday night, which will double as senior night for the Demons.
First serve is set for 7 p.m.
Highland
The Huskies picked up a win in their most recent match, sweeping Pekin in three straight sets on Thursday night.
The home victory pushes Highland to 21-10 on the season, as they look to take on conference powerhouse Wapello in their regular-season finale on Tuesday night.
The Huskies were led by Brylee Carolan?s eight kills on the night, while Murphy Beinhart notched seven kills, Sydney Black had six and Aly Stokes pushed five kills.
Beinhart led the team with 12 digs, while Kelsey Hora had 17 digs for the Huskies. Amy Schnoebelen had 11 assists and 14 digs on the night.
Highland served at a clip of 94 percent on the night, with Schnoebelen picking up a team-best four aces.
The first serve for Highland against Wapello will be set for 7:30 p.m. at Wapello.
Mid-Prairie
The Golden Hawks went to Clear Creek-Amana for a Saturday tournament, playing five matches on the night.
Mid-Prairie left the tournament with a 1-4 record, claiming a victory over Central Clinton on the day.
The three-set victory (18-21, 21-16, 15-13) was highlighted by a team-best eight kills from sophomore Jaedynn Evans.
Amanda Miller had 10 digs in the victory, while sophomore Sami Miller put up 10 assists in the match to lead the squad.
Mid-Prairie suffered a three-set loss to North Scott (27-25, 15-21, 18-16), while being swept by Iowa Valley (22-20, 21-11), Clear Creek-Amana (21-15, 21-19) and Union (21-6, 21-18).
The Golden Hawks will pick things up on Tuesday when they take part in their conference tournament pool play in Wilton.
WACO
The Warrior volleyball team traveled to Bloomfield on Saturday for a five-match tournament, coming away with a 2-3 record on the day.
The WACO victories came in straight sets over Cardinal (21-17, 21-14) and Albia (21-15, 21-8), but the Warriors suffered a three-set loss against host Davis County, falling 21-19, 10-21, 15-4.
WACO suffered straight-set losses to Central Decatur (21-13, 21-15) and Centerville (21-11, 26-24).
The Warriors will wrap up their regular season on Tuesday, when they host Central Lee.
