Mid-Prairie hosted its annual tournament on Thursday afternoon, and took sixth place in the lightning-shortened event.
Highlighting the day for the Hawks was senior Ally Wertz, who posted a career-low 38 on the day to finish as the meet runner-up in the nine-hole meet.
Paige Slabaugh was next for Mid-Prairie, carding a 53, while Lindsey Palmer and Olivia Nisly rounded out the scoring with 60s on the day.
Kenzie Bontrager carded a 66 and Tiffany Fisher had a 78 for the Hawks.
?The kids have been working really hard over the past week to prepare for today and it showed,? Mid-Prairie girls? golf head coach Tracy McArtor said. ?What caught their eye was that two of the teams the girls beat today are teams that had already posted dual meet wins against us in weeks prior. Realizing that they have the ability to be a competitive team was nice to see. I was really happy with the results and am looking forward to the next couple weeks as we get ready for conference play and regionals.?
Columbus was also in attendance at the meet, and finished in a tie for third with a team score of 198.
The Wildcats were led by Kortney Orr, who carded a 44 on the day, with Sarah Todd posting a 48.
Emily Duncan and Aubrey Duncan each posted 53s to round out the scoring, while Maissa Haffner notched a 55.
