Iowa Wesleyan’s Allison Morris was named Continental Athletic Conference Runner of the Week on Monday after another strong on the trail.
Morris finished 23rd out of 65 runners at the Viking Cross-Country Invitational on Saturday in Ankeny, finishing one spot ahead of former Cardinal prep Alexia McClure, who runs for Indian Hills.
As a team, the Tiger women took eighth out of eight teams, and the men did not have enough runners to score.
In other Tiger news, former Mt. Pleasant prep Brevin Wilson led the Iowa Wesleyan men’s golf team at the Waldorf University Invite in Albert Lea, Minnesota, over the weekend. Wilson posted a 73 to lead the squad, tying for 13th for the tournament. The team finished 11th out of 12.
The Iowa Wesleyan women’s team finished fifth out of five teams at Waldorf. Karli Kirchner, Aubrey Duncan and Claire Hanson all shot +16 in that tournament to co-lead the squad, and former Panther golfer Michal Wohlleber was one stroke behind her three teammates.
The Tiger men’s soccer team dropped two games last week, falling 3-0 to Harris-Stowe State University and 1-0 to William Woods to stay winless on the season.
The Tiger women fell twice last week on the soccer field. Iowa Wesleyan lost 3-1 against Cornell College and 5-0 against St. Mary-of-the-Woods College.
The Tiger volleyball team played just one game last week. Iowa Wesleyan dropped its home opener to Culver-Stockton College, falling in three sets (25-14, 25-21, 25-14) to fall to 0-15.
