The Iowa Wesleyan wrestling teams had their first duals last week. The Tiger women flied to a 35-11 win over William Penn University on Thursday, and the men went 1-1 on Wednesday, beating Saint Ambrose 32-16 but falling to Cornell College 26-23.
The Tiger women won a pair of matches by forfeits and lost two by forfeit as well, but every match that took place on the mats went the way of the Tigers.
The Tigers had two pins on the day. Nadia Adbijanovic won her match by fall at 143 points, and Grace Gray won the 191-pound bout by fall as well.

Iowa Wesleyan’s win over St. Ambrose was anchored by two pins and two major decisions.
The pins happened on opposite ends of the weight classes. Lane Scorpil pinned his man at 125 pounds, and Isaac Boucher picked up a pin at 285 pounds. Both of those wins were in the first period.
Major decisions happened in back-to-back mkatches, as Brent Ward won the 157-pound match 20-6, and Adin Garay took the 165-pound match 14-5.
