Wesleyan’s Morris finishes 9th at Drake Relays

DES MOINES — Iowa Wesleyan’s Allison Morris placed ninth in the 3000-meter steeple chase race Saturday at the Drake Relays.
Morris was Wesleyan’s first individual female competitor at the Relays since Stacy Ticknor Boudreau set the Tigers school record in the heptathlon in 2001 with a seventh-place finish.
Morris, a freshman, ran the race in 13 minutes, 29.75 seconds. There were 12 entrants in the college division of the steeple chase. Sarah Wills, a senior from Adams State won the event in 10:53.87.
