West Branch upsets No. 7 Mid-Prairie
No. 7 Mid-Prairie tried to claw its way back from a 24-14 halftime deficit, but West Branch held off the Golden Hawks for a 48-42 upset victory.
Senior Mariah Swartzentruber scored 13 points to lead the Golden Hawks (2-1, 1-1 Cedar Valley Conference), who suffered their first loss of the season. Sophomore Taylor Kurtz added eight points and eight rebounds, and senior Mallory McArtor also scored eight points.
