Wests, Keller, Morrison claim titles at Highland Invitational
Stellar seasons continued for four area wrestlers on Saturday at the Gary Curtis Invitational at Highland.
Four area competitors, two from Highland and two from Columbus, added on to their undefeated seasons with tournament titles at the event, and will look to carry that momentum into a potential run to the state tournament in February.

Stellar seasons continued for four area wrestlers on Saturday at the Gary Curtis Invitational at Highland.
Four area competitors, two from Highland and two from Columbus, added on to their undefeated seasons with tournament titles at the event, and will look to carry that momentum into a potential run to the state tournament in February.
Columbus senior Josh Keller (113 pounds) improved to 16-0 on the year with three victories on Saturday.
A 36-second pin in the quarterfinals, followed up by a 58-second pin in the semifinals, advanced Keller to the championship match.
Facing New London?s Javis Kreiger, Keller claimed a 14-9 decision to take the Invitational crown
Fellow Wildcat Tucker Morrison (170 pounds), also took an individual title at the tournament.
A pin fall in 40 seconds in the quarterfinal was followed up by a 5-2 decision victory over Washington?s Bryce Rickey in the semifinals.
Morrison went on to the championship round, where he picked up a pin fall at 1:24 to claim the title and improve his season record to 21-0.
Highland had the other two area tournament champions, with Bryce West and Drew West each claiming a title.
Bryce West (120 pounds) picked up a 27-second pin in the quarterfinals and a 1:04 pin fall in the semifinals to advance to the championship match on Saturday.
He continued his momentum in the final match with a 21-6 technical fall to pick up the title and improve his season record to 30-0.
Drew West (126 pounds) won his first two matches by fall, including a 30-secnod pin fall over Washington?s Andrew Waite in the semifinals, before claiming a 14-3 major decision in the championship for the title.
Drew is 27-0 on the year.
