Wildcats fall to North Cedar

COLUMBUS JUNCTION - The Wildcats lost Friday's non-district game to the visitors from North Cedar, 33-8.
Columbus got on the board and trailed just 13-8 at the end of the first quarter and 20-8 at halftime.
'We showed that we can play well fundamentally at times, but we still have a lot to learn about ourselves,” Columbus coach Tyler Kibbe said. 'We are still developing as a team, and we will continue to find our identity as a unit.”
Bawi Uk was 5 for 12 for 170 yards and had a rushing touchdown for the Wildcats. Mason Hodges had 12 carries for 30 yards and two pass receptions for 100 yards. Jaime Villegas had a 55-yard catch. Tucker Bright caught one pass for 14 yards and Bryan Miranda had two catches for 15 yards.
Bright led the defense with six solo tackles, three assists and a fumble recovery.
Columbus is 1-4 and starts district play Friday, hosting Van Buren.
