Wildcats go 2-1 in duals

WINFIELD - On a night that past coaches and state qualifiers from Winfield-Mt. Union, Morning Sun, Wapello, New London, and Columbus Junction were recognized and celebrated for their past accomplishments, the Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union wrestling team won two duals and lost one.
The Wildcats defeated Belle Plaine 54-21 and English Valleys 48-36, but lost to Notre Dame 46-34.
Jarod Kadel registered three wins, all by fall, for the Wildcats. However, he did not spend more than 2 minutes on the mat. He registered pins in 40 seconds, 52 seconds and 10 seconds.
The Wildcats' next action will be Jan. 5 at Highland.
