MT. PLEASANT — The Iowa Wesleyan men’s golf team has been raking in the awards this spring. One week after Trace White was named Continental Athletic Conference golfer of the week, teammate Brevin Wilson made it two Tigers in a row.
Wilson, another Mt. Pleasant prep earned the team’s third-straight Golfer of the Week award. He was named Golfer of the Week one week prior to former Panther teammate White getting the honor. Wilson and White were both state qualifiers during their time at Mt. Pleasant.
Wilson’s award came on the back of a big time performance at the Verhille Invitational on April 21, where he finished 16th out of 102 competitors with a final stroke total of 76.
The Tigers finished 14th out of 18 teams in the tournament, hosted by Mount Mercy.
Iowa Wesleyan will now turn its attention toward the CAC championships on May 2-3, hosted by the Tigers in Burlington. The tournament will take place at Burlignton Golf Club, beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday.
