Win streak continues for Demon girls
Washington golf win streak moves to eight straight

BURLINGTON — On Monday afternoon, the Washington girls golf team once again showed why they were state champions last season.
The Demons have yet to place anything but first, winning their eighth in a row.
Washington posted a team score of 180 for the top spot, down second-place Keokuk by 14 strokes, 194. Fairfield finished in third with a score of 197. Mt. Pleasant didn’t post a team score due to only having two golfers.
Burlington finished fourth with 204 points and Fort Madison didn’t tally a total.
Makenna Conrad and Kaylin Long led the Demons tying for third with 43.
Burlington’s Lauren Briggs took first on the day with a meet low of 40. Keokuk’s Natalie Ames followed with a score of 41.
Washington’s Alecia Goff and Mallary Johnson both shot 47 on the day. Maci Williams ended with a 51 on the day and Haley Mitchell had 63.
For Fairfield, Macy Rayburn was the highest finisher. Rayburn shot a 45 on the day. Viola Welsh ended with 49. Maggie Rayburn totaled 50. Kate Pettit had 53 and Myah Twohill 63.
Samantha Wibben was Mt. Pleasant’s top placer. Wibben ended her day with a 49. Kylie Walderbach followed with a 56.
