Winfield knocked out of regional tournament by No. 3 Holy Trinity

FT. MADISON ? W-MU came out with a decent showing in game one before their scoring trailed off against the state?s third-ranked team, Holy Trinity, in the quarterfinal round of the regional volleyball tournament last night. Final scores of the three sets were 25-20, 25-10 and 25-9.
Katlyn Malone had six kills for the Wolves, followed by Anna Crawford with four. Erica Robison had three and Shelby Therme added two.
Therme also had eight assists and registered two blocks. Katie Benson added six assists, Robison had two blocks and Malone put up one.
Kassidy McLaughlin had 13 digs for the team, leading the way in that category. Crawford made eight digs, followed by Therme and Benson, each with four. Kenzie Sternat and Robison added two apiece.
Crawford served a perfect eight-of-eight and McLaughlin went seven-of-seven. Sternat was seven-of-eight with three aces. Therme was five-of-six with one ace, and Kelsey Christiansen went four-of-four.
W-MU finished the season with a final record of 17-16.
