Winfield-Mt. Union girls and boys split games with IMS
The Winfield-Mt. Union girls? basketball team took their second win of the season last night against IMS, while the boys? team suffered a home- and opening-night loss to the same school.
The girls? game was a 45-28 final in the Wolves? favor.

The Winfield-Mt. Union girls? basketball team took their second win of the season last night against IMS, while the boys? team suffered a home- and opening-night loss to the same school.
The girls? game was a 45-28 final in the Wolves? favor.
Cassie Kingery scored 15 points to lead the Wolves, going seven-for-10 from the floor, while Shelby Therme added 11 points in the win, making five of her eight shots from the line. Anna Crawford was next, with nine points. Sarah Chaney scored five and Katelyn McArtor scored four.
Kingery also topped the team with nine rebounds, followed by Sarah Chaney and Shelby Therme with eight boards each.
Kassidy McLaughlin added five rebounds and had six assists. Therme added five assists, and McArtor nabbed three steals in the game.
The girls are now 2-1 on the season.
The boys? team opened its season last night with a loss, 58-37, to IMS.
Clayton Robinson led the team with 16 points, followed by Jake Edwards, who scored 10. Travis Jones added five, while Lucas Rappenecker, Max Fricke and Klayton Booth put up two points each.
The Winfield-Mt. Union boys and girls will play again at home against Columbus on Friday, starting at 6 p.m.
