WINFIELD — The Winfield-Mt. Union offense simply ran all over River Ridge (Ill.) to pick up their first win of the year on Friday night. The Wolves ran for over 400 yards and scored 11 times on the ground in a 76-46 win.
Daunte Oepping had a ridiculous game from under center. He ran for 214 yards and six touchdowns, and also added 63 yards passing.
Juanito Piper, who was coming off an injury that knocked him out of the Wolves' opener two weeks ago, went for 165 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, and also gained 50 yards receiving on six catches.
Christian Gerot scored two touchdowns on the day. Robert Loveless found the end zone once.
Piper led the defense with 19 tackles. Oepping had an interception, Noah Sparrow picked one ball off and Noah Freeman fell on a fumble.
W-MU is now 1-1. They'll open up district play at Montezuma this week.
