Winfield-Mt. Union to No. 8

WINFIELD — Winfield-Mt. Union just keeps moving up.

The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released its 10th list of rankings on Wednesday morning and yet again the Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves moved up on the Class 1A list.

On this go around of rankings, Winfield-Mt. Union sits at No. 8 in the class, up one spot from last weeks list.

After a big win over Highland on Tuesday night, the Wolves now sit at 19-0 and 16-0 in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North standings.

The Wolves are one of four undefeated teams left in the Class 1A, with No. 3 North Linn, No. 5 Westwood and No. 6 West Fork all gracing unblemished records as well.

In their next matchup, WMU will look to take down No. 12 Mediapolis (Class 2A) at Southeast Community College in the SEISC Shootout.

The Wolves previously defeated Mediapolis, 54-38 on January 9.
