Winfield-Mt. Union used an 18-0 run over the final five minutes of the second quarter to take control of Friday?s Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division game at IMS, and the Wolves went on to win 55-36.
IMS (7-13, 6-12 SEISC North) jumped out to a quick 6-2 lead after the game?s first four minutes, but Winfield-Mt. Union closed the first quarter with a 13-4 run. Back-to-back 3-pointers by junior Kristin Davis put IMS back in front before the Wolves rattled off 18 unanswered points.
Davis scored 13 points to lead IMS, and junior Olivia Yutzy added 11 points and seven rebounds. Junior Shelby Therme had 19 points, 10 rebounds, four steals and three assists to lead the Wolves (15-4, 14-3 SEISC North).
