Winfield-Mt. Union wallops Lone Tree

LONE TREE - The Winfield-Mt. Union volleyball team breezed through the final two sets of their SEISC North Division matchup at Lone Tree on Tuesday night, after grinding out a four-point win in the first.

The Wolves swept the Lions 3-0, winning games 25-21, 25-9 and 25-11 to gain some momentum as the regular season winds down.

Jenna Buffington had another big game for the Wolves. She led the team with 15 kills. Madie Anderson had seven kills. Liana Sweezer had six. Jami Wilkerson finished with four. Anna Hudson had three. Kyndal Townsley finished with two, and Kayla Edwards had one.

Edwards finished the day with 29 of the Wolves' 33 assists. Buffington and Townsley led the way with seven digs apiece.

W-MU went 68-73 on the serve with 14 aces. Sabrina Moody had five aces to lead the way. Edwards finished the night with four aces. Townsley and Wilkerson had two apiece, and Buffington had one.
