Union area teams winter season heading into full swing

The Union area will be busy this week as every school will begin its winter season with Thanksgiving break now past.

The big schools in Washington, Fairfield and Mt. Pleasant will have all three winter sports in action in basketball, wrestling and bowling.

Basketball and bowling begin early in the week on Monday and Tuesday, while boys wrestling will get going at the end of the week.

Girls wrestling has already had a week and a half under the belt.

The same holds true for the Union area small schools as the majority will open their basketball season on Monday and Tuesday night.

Wrestling follows late in the week with meets on Friday and Saturday.
