WMS volleyball opens season
The Washington Middle School?s eighth-grade volleyball teams opened up the home portion of their schedule on Monday night.
The Demons had four teams participate in the home meet, where they took on Mt. Pleasant.
In the A game, Washington defeated Mt. Pleasant in three games, falling in the first set 21-19, before downing the Panthers by scores of 21-18 and 15-12 to push them to 1-0 on the season.

The Washington Middle School?s eighth-grade volleyball teams opened up the home portion of their schedule on Monday night.
The Demons had four teams participate in the home meet, where they took on Mt. Pleasant.
In the A game, Washington defeated Mt. Pleasant in three games, falling in the first set 21-19, before downing the Panthers by scores of 21-18 and 15-12 to push them to 1-0 on the season.
The B team split its pair of games against Mt. Pleasant, winning 21-18, before falling 21-17 in the second game.
The eighth-grade C team swept its pair of games, 21-13, 21-12, and the D team split their pair of games with a 21-17 victory and a 21-17 loss.
The seventh-grade team traveled to Mt. Pleasant to start its season on Monday, and came away with more positive results.
The A team won its match in three sets, falling in the first 21-16, before claiming victories of 21-15 and 15-5 to win the match and move to 1-0.
The Washington seventh-grade B team swept its pair of games, winning 21-10, 21-15, while the C team split its matches, with a 21-17 win and a 21-19 loss.
The Demons will continue their season on Thursday, when the seventh-grade team hosts Fairfield, and the eighth-grade team travels to face the Trojans.
