WMS volleyball wrap-up

The Washington Middle School volleyball teams wrapped up their seasons on Monday night, with the seventh- and eighth-grade teams taking on Fairfield in the finale.

The seventh-grade team traveled to Fairfield for their match, where the A team fell in straight sets, 21-17, 22-20 to the Trojans. Taylor Brinning led the way for the team, accounting for eight points, while Sophia Kleese and Emma Nichols each picked up four.

The B team was led by Anna Nacos? six points, as they split the match with the Trojans, picking up a 21-6 victory, followed by a 21-19 loss. Sarah Hall had five points for the Demons.

The seventh-grade C team picked up a victory, sweeping the Trojans with victories of 21-16, 21-16, led by Yulisma Torres? nine points.

Brynn Beenblossom and Sydney Cuddeback had five points apiece for the C team.

The seventh-grade A team wrapped up the year with a 3-6 record (6-14 in games), while the B team went 5-1-3 and the C team went 6-1-2.

The eighth-grade Demons wrapped up their season at home against the Trojans, claiming a straight set with for the A team, with set wins of 21-16, 21-17.

The B team split its sets on the night, falling 21-8, before claiming a 23-21 victory.

The C team finished its match in a tie, with a 21-16 loss and a 21-16 victory, while the D team was swept 21-7, 21-6.

Overall, the eighth-grade A team went 4-5 on the season, while the B team went 1-3-5 on the year. The C team went 2-4-3 on the year and the D team went 1-5-2.
