WMU defeats IMS on the links

The IMS boys? and girls? golf teams were in action at home on Friday afternoon, but were handed a pair of losses in their meets.

Winfield-Mt. Union outscored IMS 174-217 in the boys? meet, while defeating IMS 221-329 in the girls? meet.

Roman Slabach led IMS on the boys? side, notching a 50 on the day, followed by Drake Brezina?s 53.

Adrian Gonzales carded a 56 and Caleb Yoder posted a 58 to round out the counting scores for IMS at the Kalona Golf Club.

Palmer Thomas and Trevor Leyden carded the scratch scores for IMS, each posting a 63.

Tanner Thrapp was the lone JV score for IMS, shooting an 81.

On the girls? side of the meet, the team was led by Gretta Rempel and Lidiya Kravchuck, who each posted 79s on the day.

Lara Kliewer scored an 85, while Payton Hart notched an 86 in the event.
