WMU hosts home girls relays

Three area teams were in Winfield on Thursday for Winfield-Mount Union’s home girls track relays. The Wolves had five other teams present, including WACO and Columbus.
WACO was the top Union area team in fourth, scoring 84 points. WMU scored 56 points for fifth, and Columbus was sixth, with 44 points. Danville won the meet with 174.
WMU had the most wins of the three area teams, taking down two titles on the day. The 4x200 team of Avery Maeder, Annaballe Loveless, Keetyn Townsley and Kyndal Townsley won in 2:00.19, and Jobey Malone won the shot put title with a throw of 36 feet.
Columbus’ Libby White took the other throwing event. White won the discus throw with a hurl of 100 feet even.
