KEOSAUQUA - Van Buren County senior Ryan Wolf signed his letter of intent last week to attend and play baseball for Southeastern Community College in Burlington next school year.
Wolf is coming off a year where he batted .439 for the Warriors and had a team-high slugging percentage of .659. Wolf led Van Buren with 18 hits, 16 RBIs and two home runs on the season.
On the mound, Wolf had a 4.94 earned run average in his junior year. He went 0-2, appearing in six games and starting one. His 10 strikeouts were fourth-best on the team.
SCC didn't play last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the Blackhawks had a fantastic 2019. SCC finished the 2019 season 41-19 overall and 16-12 in conference play.
Wolf and the Warriors still have unfinished business on the high school fields. The 2021 high school baseball season begins in May.
