Wolves, Huskies meet up on the course
WMU boys, Highland girls win in SEISC golf showdown

RIVERSIDE — Winfield-Mount Union and Highland went at it on the golf course on Monday at Blue Top Ridge in Riverside. The Wolves and Huskies each took home one win, as the WMU boys and Highland girls were both victorious.
On the boys’ side, the Wolves downed the Huskies 196-208. The Highland girls won 218-235.
The WMU boys were once again led by Carter Loyd, who shot 42 to win medalist honors by five strokes. Grant Anderson shot 50 for the Wolves’ second-best score.
Jake Edwards and Andrew Brown each shot 52 to both score for the Wolves. Max Edwards shot a 56, and Nick Sparrow finished at 57.
Highland’s Peyton Yeggy finished at 47 to lead the Huskies. Isaac Kleese wasn’t far behind him, shooting 48, and Will Dunbar finished at 52.
Colton Sypherd shot a 61 for the Huskies. Sawyer Shalla ended at 72, and Chase Hickenbottom ended at 76.
On the girls’ side, Highland’s Kelsi Cerny led the way with a 50. Teammate Adisyn Prottsman was four strokes back, at 54, and Adeline Krotz shot 55.
Highland’s fourth scorer was Emersyn Shultz, who ended the day with a 59. Danika Kraus and Kerra Longbine both shot 62.
The WMU girls were paced by Afton Wilkerson’s 57. Isabel Kann shot a 58, and Alli Humphreys finished at 59.
The rest of the Lady Wolves weren’t far behind. Anna Anderson, Lily Freeman and Ava Hagge all shot 61.
