WINFIELD — Winfield-Mount Union will host a girls’ basketball jamboree on Nov. 15, and three Union area teams will take part. Along with the Wolves, Mt. Pleasant and Highland will be present.
For a number of teams present, the jamboree, which was set up by incoming WMU coach Mendy McCreight and Mt. Pleasant coach Curt Watson, will be a replacement for the annual Iowa Wesleyan University jamboree, which has not taken place since the COVID-19 pandemic.
The jamboree will feature matchups of Lone Tree against Fort Madison, Keokuk against Highland, Burlington against Central Lee, and WMU against Mt. Pleasant, which will be the last game of the day.
The jamboree will take place one week before the 2022 high school girls’ basketball season officially kicks off for area teams.
