Wolves win key match, stop Iowa Mennonite in five
KALONA ? Winfield-Mt. Union varsity volleyball came away with another conference win Thursday night, Oct. 6. The Wolves defeated Iowa Mennonite School and are now 7-1 in conference play and 16-14 overall.
W-MU took the win in the first set decidedly, 25-7. IMS posed more of a challenge in the second set but W-MU won, 25-21.
The Wolves fell short in the third and forth set, 22-25 and 23-25.

The final set to decide the victory went in favor of the Wolves who won by five points, 15-10.
Alicia Escher led the Wolves with 18 kills, while Anna Crawford had 11. The team had a total of 53 kills in the match.
Overall W-MU tallied 16 aces; Crawford and Escher led the team with four each.
On defense four Wolves had double digits in the dig department; Kassidy McLaughlin led the team with 28, Crawford had 15, Escher contributed 11 and Katie Benson added 10.
The Wolves will have Senior Night, Tuesday, Oct. 11 when they host Mediapolis.
