KEOKUK — The Keokuk bowling team took home almost every piece of gold from the 2026 Southeast Conference bowling tournament, held at their home lanes at Arrowhead bowl. Emphasis, though, on the almost.
Fairfield senior Dayson Workman spoiled the Chiefs’ party by besting every other bowler in the building.
Workman put up an impressive 458 to win the boys’ individual crown by 19 points, leading Fairfield to a fourth-place finish overall.
The Washington boys were just 102 pins below Keokuk after individual games, and even outperformed the Chiefs 173-167 in the first of five Baker Games, Keokuk turned it on from that point forward and ran away with the championship.
Other area bowlers who made the Top-12 at the SEC meet were Washington’s Kaeden Zear, who took fourth, Washington’s Mitchell Zieglowsky, who finished seventh, Mt. Pleasant’s Ethan Payne, who took ninth, Fairfield’s Blake Ballew, who was 10th, and Washington’s Kelton Burke and Cooper Zahs, which finished 11th and 12th respectively.
Mt. Pleasant was the top girls' team, other than the first-place Chiefs, but much like the Washington boys, the Panthers weren’t within striking distance down the stretch.
Individually, Mt. Pleasant’s Shyann Smith, Natalie Brush and Savannah Smith finished fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.
Fairfield’s Braezen Stutzman was eighth. Mt. Pleasant’s Addison Butcher took ninth. Fairfield’s Emma Forrest was 10th, and Mt. Pleasant’s Serete RRR finished 12th.
