Wright leads Panther girls in Des Moines
DES MOINES ? Gwynne Wright capped a busy weekend with a 10th-place finish in the 800 and a 12th-place time in the 1500 Saturday at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.
Wright finished the 800 in 2:25.87 prior to completing the 1500 in 5:12. Senior teammate Maleaha Earnest finished 19th in the 1500 in 5:20.

DES MOINES ? Gwynne Wright capped a busy weekend with a 10th-place finish in the 800 and a 12th-place time in the 1500 Saturday at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.
Wright finished the 800 in 2:25.87 prior to completing the 1500 in 5:12. Senior teammate Maleaha Earnest finished 19th in the 1500 in 5:20.
On Friday, the Panthers also received a ninth-place finish from Mallory Reed in the 100-hurdles (16.59), plus a 17th from Reed, Maranda Baker, Whitney Horras and Gwynne Wright in the distance medley (4:27.87).
Maranda Baker came in 19th in the discus (98? 5?) and Samantha Wright was 24th in the 400-meter hurdles (1:15.47). Both the 4x100 (53.62) and 4x400 (4:23.40) also finished 23rd for Pekin.
