Around 50 people from Brighton, Wayland, Washington and Fairfield (including seven newcomers), attended a Celebrate Recovery meeting Nov. 21 at the Brighton Church of God.
This meeting marked the beginning of the third year of this ecumenical ministry. The evening included dinner, live praise and worship music, optional small group sharing, and an overview introduction to the Celebrate Recovery program and why it enjoys an 85 percent success rate in helping people overcome hurts, habits and hangups.
The meeting also featured the local kickoff of the companion program for children ages 5-13 called Celebration Place. Four children attended the Celebration Place Brighton Grand Opening.
The next weekly Celebrate Recovery/Celebration Place meeting, open to anyone with any hurt, habit, or hangup and their children ages 5-13, will be Thursday, Dec. 5, at the Brighton Church of God beginning at 6 p.m., with a free meal. Free child care is available for children under 5.
