COLLEGE NEWS: Local students graduate from college, earn special recognition

Western Illinois University

Jacki J. Ranck of New London was among the 678 students earned academic degrees or post-baccalaureate certificates after the Fall 2020 semester at Western Illinois University.

Ranck obtained a bachelor of business in accountancy.

Bradley University

Callie DePriest of Mt Pleasant and Sarah Nacos of Washington are among the 2000 students who were named to Bradley University’s Fall 2020 Dean’s List. DePriest is majoring in Elementary Education. Nacos is majoring in Biology.

To be eligible for the Dean’s List, a student must achieve a minimum 3.5 grade point average for the semester on a 4.0 scale.

Iowa Wesleyan University

Iowa Wesleyan University is proud of all of its graduates and wants to say congratulations to the 37 December graduates. The Fall 2020 semester was unique and held many changes, but these 37 graudates still perservered and were determined to graduate from IW during these uncertain times. Iowa Wesleyan University invites all 37 graduates to come back to walk at the commencment ceremony on May 1, 2021.

Mississippi College

Isaac Davis of Mt. Pleasant was named to the Fall 2020 President’s List at Mississippi College. Mississippi College, affiliated with the Mississippi Baptist Convention, is a private, co-educational, Christian university of liberal arts and sciences.

Central College

More than 380 students were named to the Central College dean’s list for Fall 2020.

The honor is awarded to full-time students who achieve a 3.5 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale while taking 12 or more graded credit hours for the semester.
