American Legion Spring Conference

Arvid Anderson attended the 1st District American Legion Spring Conference in Mt Pleasant, hosted by Bob Tribby Post 58 on Saturday, April 6, 2019.

Election was held for electing new District officers for 2019-2020.

State office staff gave membership and other reports in regard to State and National American Legion programs.

There are two candidates for State Commander in 2019, one from the 8th District and one from the 9th District. One candidate will be elected at the State Convention in Des Moines, July 18-21, 2019.

The American Legion was organized in Paris, France, in March 1919, so this year marked 100 years.

The United Church of Crawfordsville’s Spring Rummage Sale will be held Thursday, April 25, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday, April 26, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, April 27, from 8 a.m. to noon. Clothing for young and old; Toys, Household items, books, small appliances, some furniture and many miscellaneous items will be offered. These items will be offered for a free-will offering, except maybe larger items of furniture, etc. We ask everything to be in good working order and clean. No TVs or computers.

The Washington Presbyterian Women are inviting the United Church Women to their annual Salad Luncheon on Wednesday, May 1 at 11:45 a.m. The program will follow by Deputy Chad Ellis from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office speaking on Human Trafficking.
