Jefferson County Extension and Outreach Office will host a free class on weather safety and preparedness March 3.
Rich Kinney of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration will host the class, which begins at 6 p.m. at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.

Weather Safety and Preparedness focuses on the most common weather hazards, National Weather Service products and services, and the fundamentals of a good severe weather plan.
The class will also discuss ways to get NWS forecast information, and the role of the designated Weather Watcher in the severe weather preparedness plan.
