MT. PLEASANT — EveryStep Hospice in Mt. Pleasant was recently recognized as a “superior performer” in overall caregiving and family satisfaction.

The nonprofit hospice program received the distinction after ranking in the top 20 percent of Strategic Healthcare Programs clients in 2019 as part of the SHPBest award program, according to a news release from EveryStep.

The local hospice program was one of 1,400 hospice providers that was reviewed and ranked in consideration for the award.

“Hospice care is a specialty, and this recognition further demonstrates what sets EveryStep apart from other hospice providers,” Mike Breese, EveryStep Hospice director in Mt. Pleasant, said in the statement. “We always encourage people to do their homework and be selective when searching for a high-quality hospice provider, just as they would for any other health care need.”

Outside of Mt. Pleasant and Henry County, the hospice program serves residents in Des Moines, Jefferson, Keokuk, Lee, Louisa, Van Buren and Washington counties.
