Fairfield resident Joseph Kessler was airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Saturday afternoon after being involved in a two-vehicle crash just outside the city of Fairfield.
Kessler was traveling eastbound on a moped on Highway 34 near exit 212 at 3:45 p.m. that day when the collision occurred. A vehicle driven by Tyler Hoskins, 30, of Montezuma, was traveling behind Kessler, and clipped the left side of his moped. Kessler’s moped was knocked over and ended up along the shoulder of the roadway. Kessler was first transported to the Jefferson County Health Center before being airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Hoskins was cited for failure to reduce his speed.
