Iowa sees 419 new COVID cases

Iowa sees an additional 419 positive COVID-19 cases on Saturday, according to a news release from Gov. Kim Reynold’s office.

In total, the state now has 16,767 positive cases, a rate of 8.8%, the release notes.

The governor’s office also confirmed an additional 26 deaths, for a total of 445 coronavirus-related fatalities. The newly confirmed deaths occurred between May 9 and May 22, the release said.

Iowa also sees an additional 4,336 negative tests for a total of 106,223 negative tests to date. Currently, 362 individuals are hospitalized and 9,187 cases have recovered.
