Mt. Pleasant Police investigating Tuesday night stabbing

MT. PLEASANT — One individual has been released from the hospital following a reported stabbing in Mt. Pleasant Tuesday evening.

According to a news release issued by the Mt. Pleasant Police Department, officers were called to the 1200 block of North Palm Avenue at approximately 11:03 p.m., on Tuesday, Jan. 7. The victim and his girlfriend were located and transported to the hospital where the victim was later released.

According to the statement, the investigation is ongoing and a search warrant was conducted. The incident was isolated and no immediate threat to the community was identified at the time.

On Wednesday, Jan. 8, Mt. Pleasant Police Chief Lyle Murray confirmed to The Union no one had yet been charged with the crime and the department was waiting for evidence to come back. He reiterated there was no threat to the community, as they believe this was an isolated incident.
