Pints in the Park, hosted by Main Street Mt. Pleasant, invited local businesses and residents to bring out their best chili and soup to the park on Friday, Oct. 4. The event has been held every year for 17 years. Tasters who purchased tickets tried samplings from ten teams, with a total of 12 chilis and two soups. As locals tried the chili and soup, local breweries and wineries provided cold beverages to go with the hot food. First Baptist Church reigned supreme in the judges’ choice of chili. Miss K’s was named first place in judges’ choice for best soup. Kat Zeglen took home the prize for the people’s choice of chili and people’s choice of best soup was a dead tie between Edward Jones and Miss K’s.
In addition to chilis, soups and drinks, attendees also enjoyed live music from local band Jive Radio.
