Two men in Jefferson County have been arrested and charged after a “rash of late night and early morning business burglaries and break-ins that have been happening since last summer according to the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office.
Lt. Kinsella of the Fairfield Police Department led an investigation with the assistance of other local law enforcement agencies that lead to the arrests of Brian Maguire of Birmingham, Michael Ennen of Fairfield as well as an unnamed juvenile. None of the individuals have been charged with committing every one of the crimes the news release states. Additional arrests are expected in the near future.
As of the news release, charges have been filed for break-ins for the following businesses:
-Fairfield Golf and Country Club in Fairfield
-La Hacienda in Fairfield
-Impact Fitness in Fairfield
-Eagles Club in Fairfield
-Too Good To Be Through in Fairfield
-India Cafe in Fairfield (burglarized on two separate occasions)
-Imperial Buffet in Fairfield
-Boyd’s Grocery in Keosauqua (Charges brought by Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office)
During the burglaries, cash, merchandise, lottery tickets and other valuables were stolen according to the release. Businesses also saw acts of criminal mischief committed as well as vandalism.
