Washington County now has its first case of COVID-19.
The Iowa Department of Public Health has been notified of nine more positive cases of Iowans with COVID-19, bringing the total number of Iowa positive cases up to 38 according to a news release sent from Gov. Kim Reynold’s office.
Of the new nine cases, one individual is in Washington County, three individuals are residents of Johnson County, two are of Dallas County, and one is of Winneshiek County.
Reynolds has announced she will be holding a press conference on Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m. Additional details will be provided tomorrow at the press conference according to the news release.
The positive case in Washington County comes a day after Reynolds declared a State of Public Health Disaster Emergency, effectively closing all restauants, bars, and other public places in Iowa.
