Fairfield doesn't need a new fire station

I don’t think Fairfield needs a new fire station.

Our current station’s location is ideally suited midtown, on a state higway, well plowed in winter and having easy underpass of long freight trains, to serve the northern area.

Besides, why tear down a building to build another, when a relocation of the adjacent public health office would yield office and parking space for any necessary development?

Let’s not spend voter/taxpayer money unnecessarily, OK?

Finally, I acknowledge and thank fire chief Scott Vaughan, and in particular you volunteer firefighters, past and present, for your service to all of us here in Jefferson County since 1885. We appreciate you all and your good efforts. God bless you!
